BIOGRAPHY
"Not in doing what you like, but in liking what you do is the secret of happiness"
J. M. Barrie
My name is Kendall Josh Wright (aka Josh Wright Jr) and I’m a drummer, percussionist, sound/lighting engineer, and producer born and raised in The Bahamas. As most musicians’ stories go, I’ve been playing music all my life. I became seriously passionate about drums at the age of 13, and not too long after that I was gigging at different restaurants and events around Nassau with my bands Beyond Measures and The Gospel Jammers. Being a part of the magnet music program at The Government High School in Nassau, I was afforded many opportunities to play, perform, and learn as a musician individually and on as a team/band member.
After graduating high school, I attended Berklee College of Music’s two-year Pathway Program at Holland College in PEI, Canada. It was there that I got to meet, play, tour, and record with various local and international artists such as Dylan Menzie (Canada), Rachel Beck (Canada), MEVS (Puerto Rico/USA), Kinsley (Canada), Studio 115 (USA), Jocelyn Reyome (USA), Briel Anselym (Canada), Enrique Lloreda (Columbia), Charlottetown Burlesque (Canada) and more. During this time I was able to expand my playing capabilities by adapting to and learning different styles, genres, and personal artistic choices/embellishments.
I’m currently working in the industry as a drummer, director, lighting director, cameraman, and sound engineer at Second Baptist Church in Santa Ana, CA, and Irvine CA. During my time here I’ve gotten the opportunity to track drums for bassist Fred James and perform for Brent Jones’ music video, while also in the process of producing my first instrumental album featuring artists such as tobedecided, Komai, MEVS, Hailey McIsacc, Enrique Lloreda, Symone Bell, etc.
